Holidays 2012 with Chanel, Dior, Laura Mercier, Anastasia and Boots No7

A lot of my makeup purchases happen during the holiday season and this year was no different.

First, I wanted to share with you absolutely perfect red lipstick from Dior collection Diorific, color #38 Diva.  This is very cheerful color which has not too much orange nor blue, just beautiful red and very comfortable formula to wear, as usual from Dior.

Then I thought I need to tell you about my new and wonderful Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil. Brow pencil on one side, brow comb on the other - quick and simple.

Another great product I discovered to myself is shimmer base cover for the eyelids Stay Perfect Eye Mousse from Boots No 7. I think it is perfect for the summer when I do not want to wear a lot of makeup, AND it is great for the holiday season for its festive sparkle.

Finally, I found the most perfect Illuminating Shimmer powder from Laura Mercier so I can highlight my cheekbones. This loose powder provides beautiful glow to the skin and looks very natural.  Another great thing about this loose powder is that I can mix it in with with any body lotion. Love it!

The other makeup you see on the picture that I use all the time is DiorSkin Nude foundation   Chanel black eyeshadow in Mirifique  Chanel eyeshadow in Taupe Delicat  and  Chanel blush in Rouge.

So here you have it. My perfect holiday makeup collection for 2012.

My New Makeup Favorite... DiorSkin Nude

When I needed to find a new makeup, the list of requirements for my new foundation was pretty aggressive:
  • I wanted to find a makeup that is not necessarily full coverage foundation, but the one that makes my skin looks natural and beautiful, with perfect glowing complexion without looking too made up.
  • I wanted my skin to look beautiful in all types of lighting, because this is the worst having the makeup that looks good only in natural or only under artificial light. I have no use for this kind of makeup.
  • I wanted to have broad spectrum SPF 15 at least.
  • I wanted to find a color that is a perfect match for my skin tone.
  • ...and it would be nice if the formula would be beneficial to the skin as well and improve my skin over time.
After doing some research, testing many-many foundations at the cosmetic counters, I think I found my match - DiorSkin Nude.  I have light skin tone with beige undertone and DiorSkin Nude #020 is perfect match for me.  I am happy to say that not only I was able to check out all "requirements" that I had in mind, but also it feels wonderful on the skin.  To be exact, I do not feel  that I wear any makeup, and I love it!  I love it so much that I even don't care if I still need to use some concealer when masking an occasional blemish.  My verdict  - the best skin makeup I have ever tried so far.

What is your favorite foundation and skin perfector?

See you next Thursday, October 18, 2012!

Wish List... Red from Dior, Spring/Summer 2013

There is something magical about red color from Dior. I know I had one  red dress from Dior   on my wish list already (it is still on my wish list) and here is anouther one.  This one is from Spring/Summer 2013 collection.  Both dresses kind of similar: the same contrast of sheer bottom and solid top, the same perfect tailoring and red color that is SO-O Dior!  What is different in this look is solid top with peplum tailored like a piece of beautiful architecture.  With its flowy sheer bottom this picture looks mesmerizing to me.

It must be something very special in this number, because I RARELY wear red as the complete outfit, but I love  this one.  Isn't it ironic?  Maybe this is one of those thing when I like how it looks on somebody else but it would never work on me?  Regardless, this one goes on my wish list.

Dior lipstick... Blazing Red # 638

Here is my new addition of red lipsticks - Dior Blazing Red #638.  After my successful purchase of  Chanel Byzantin red lipstick which has cool undertone, I needed another red with warm undertone which I can wear with all my corals this spring and summer.  I decided to go with Rouge Dior formula because it has full coverage, moisturizing, stays long on my lips and does not feather.  As far as color goes, even I did my research on-line before I showed up at the cosmetic counter of the department store, I still spent CONSIDERABLE amount of time trying to choose the right red, but I think I got what I was looking for.  This color is what I call "full commitment" red lips, unapologetic red lips and I LOVE it this way.  For example, you cannot use red Dior Rouge like I can use my red Chanel Byzantine formula when I can just dab a little bit of red on my lips and get it any intensity I need at that moment, going as light as barely pink.  Dior Blazing Red can only be used .. well,  in full "blaze!"  I like how this lip color looks with face in nude make up, because lips make it fabulously fashionable.  I also like that this color looks light red on my lips, very good for spring and summer.  Do you wear this kind of red?
