Amazing Braid...How to tie the scarf

I wear scarves a lot.  Silk, wool, square, long rectangular, etc... and I know many ways how to tie different scarves.  However, I do not use any of those fancy knots I know, simply because I feel that complicated knot on the scarf shows that I was trying too hard, and this is not the way I want to look.  I have to say though that I had trouble figuring out the way I can wear some of my long rectangular scarves, like the ones that either too thin and delicate or has stiff texture, like linen blend.  For example, this silk scarf above I bought during one of my trips to Italy.  I loved the colors, but I rarely wore it because could never figure the way to tie it to my liking.  So it was sitting in my closet until better times.

Recently I learned one more way to tie long rectangular scarf that works really well for any scarf texture, no matter how heavy or how light the scarf is.  Most important, finally I found the scarf knot that looks nonchalant and I feel good wearing it.  It also reminds me the look of  braids   which I LOVE.  This is why I named it Amazing Braid.  If you did not know this knot before, this is how you can do the look.

Make up tutorial... The wedding makeup

I found an interesting YouTube  video with Emily of  Cupcakes and Cashmere blog  where Tom Pecheux, creative make up director with Estee Lauder shared some tips and trick about the wedding make up.  What I found especially useful was watching him apply powder blush on Emily's face.  Make up professionals say that they can tell the difference between good make up and the bad one by looking at how well it was blended.  So his technique gives you beautiful blend between the blush and the skin, no matter how intense the color of the blush is.  To achieve this, he just tapped his brush with blush on the cheek.  You have to see it.  I tried it with my  Chanel blush   and it worked wonders!  Tell me if you tried this technique.

I love the look Pat McGrath created for Dolce & Gabbana AW 2012/2013 show. Even though it was for Fall/Winter season, why not try it now? Here is the video with her instructions on how to create this look.
