Haute Couture WF12-13.... Iris Van Herpen

Maybe the celebration of July 4th in the USA inspired me to choose this young avant-garde Dutch designer Iris van Herpen for today's post.

She presented her Haute Couture collection for Fall/Winter 2012-2013 in Paris yesterday.  Her woman looks like graceful aliens in clothing inspired by architecture and the natural world.  Collection was made by using computer - assisted design to create 3D patterns with unusual choice of material - fine metallic leaves and plates assembled on new technology fabrics.  Note the use of  burgundy color   in this avant-garde collection.  This is the colors that is strikingly beautiful, and it is NOT your grandmother burgundy.

Happy Independence Day!
