Holidays 2012 with Chanel, Dior, Laura Mercier, Anastasia and Boots No7

A lot of my makeup purchases happen during the holiday season and this year was no different. 

First, I wanted to share with you absolutely perfect red lipstick from Dior collection Diorific, color #38 Diva.  This is very cheerful color which has not too much orange nor blue, just beautiful red and very comfortable formula to wear, as usual from Dior.


Then I thought I need to tell you about my new and wonderful Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil. Brow pencil on one side, brow comb on the other - quick and simple.


Another great product I discovered to myself is shimmer base cover for the eyelids Stay Perfect Eye Mousse from Boots No 7. I think it is perfect for the summer when I do not want to wear a lot of makeup, AND it is great for the holiday season for its festive sparkle.

Finally, I found the most perfect Illuminating Shimmer powder from Laura Mercier so I can highlight my cheekbones. This loose powder provides beautiful glow to the skin and looks very natural.  Another great thing about this loose powder is that I can mix it in with with any body lotion. Love it!

The other makeup you see on the picture that I use all the time is DiorSkin Nude foundation   Chanel black eyeshadow in Mirifique  Chanel eyeshadow in Taupe Delicat  and  Chanel blush in Rouge.

Boots No7 Eye Cream... New Favorite

After I was done with my two tubes of Juara Eye Cream  which I loved, it was time to switch to different eye cream product.  As dermatologists saying, you need to keep rotating any skin care product, otherwise skin gets used to a product and even the best cream will not work the same after prolonged use.  It does not mean you have to forget your favorite skin cream forever, you can return back to it after you finished another product on rotation.  The key word here is "rotation."  So, to keep my eye cream as effective as possible, I needed to switch to something else.

I use a lot of  Boots No7 products  and very happy with them.  However, I never used Boots No7 Eye Cream.   Therefore, this was natural and easy choice to me.  After I used Boots No7 Intensive Eye Cream for a couple of weeks, I am happy to report that this product did not disappoint.  I love the texture, love how it feels on the skin, and how my skin looks after I use this cream.  I also love the fact that this eye cream can be used under the eye area AND all around the eye (not all creams formulated to do that).

In addition, this product is twice less expensive than my eye cream I used before.  Not that this will stop me from going back to Juara Eye Cream when I am ready for my next rotation, but I consider this a bonus.

Boots No7 Serum... The Test Result is In!

On May 4 I wrote about  Gwyneth Paltrow and Her Beauty Secret  At that time I bought Boots No7 Beauty Serum and promised that I will report my results back to you after 28 days of use.  Company suggests that you need to use it for 28 days to see improvements to your skin.

I must say though that I was blessed with good skin, thanks to genes that run in my family.  However, the fact is, as we age, no skin stays unchanged, it will show signs of maturing, regardless.  So, I was looking forward to this experiment as I realized that it is time for me to find skin serum that delivers promised result, preferably at reasonable price.  I understand that my review of the product has nothing to do with clinical results, but purely visual observation of my skin before and after.  So, it helps to bring here conclusions by scientists: this serum is the result of more than 30 years of research on the signs of skin aging and according to the research, this product helps the skin's cells to act like younger ones, renovating the skin and stimulating the formation of new collagen. 

On my part, I am happy to report that my experiment with Boots No7 was a success and happy beginning for my new skin regiment.  This is how much  I liked my skin after use of this Beauty Serum.  The company promised that in 28 days my skin will be looking visibly younger, and it did.

Boots No7 ... Body Lotion, Face Wipes and Cuticle Oil

In my post from the last week  Gwyneth Paltrow and Her Beauty Secret  I was talking about one of  Gwyneth's Paltrow favorite brand and her beauty secret - Boots No7.  I also keep in mind that this company was founded in 1849, still around and successful, they must be doing something right.  Their products stood the test of time.  It is also great that Boots No7 skincare line is reasonable prices and available at Target stores here in the USA.

One of their product that is favored by Gwyneth Paltrow is  Protect and Perfect Beauty Serum  I just bought it recently and is in the process of testing it.  I will tell you about my results later.  The company promises that in 28 days my skin will be looking visibly younger. 

In addition to Illuminating Lotion, Lip Cream and Exfoliator I told you about last week, I also use the following products:

•  Intensively Moisturizing Body Serum.  This is great body lotion, especially I like to use this one on the delicate decolletage area.  I see the difference in appearance of my skin before and after, most definitely.     
• Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes.  They say that these wipes will clean your face and remove even waterproof mascara.  This is what I found out:  it DID NOT removes mascara for me.  The best makeup remover is   Micellar Cleansing Water  or   Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil  However, I have to say that I DO LIKE using this wipes in the morning to clean, tone and moisturize my face when no makeup removing is involved.  The formula is not irritating or drying, which is perfect for my very sensitive skin.  After using these wipes, my skin looks radiant, moisturized and feels clean.  Very convenient for traveling too.
• Cuticle Oil.  Very nice and light rose smell, good consistency and not too "runny" or greasy, and makes  my manicure  look very good.  It does what it supposed to.  This is the only product I use for cuticle care.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Her Beauty Secret...Boots No7

As it was reported by  Vogue Italia  Gwyneth Paltrow reveals one of her beauty secret: Boots No7.  Boots was founded in 1849, known for the seriousness of its pharmaceutical research, clinical tests and has all exclusive and effective formulas.

I have to say that I used a lot of Boots products, including their No7 line, but I have not tried their famous  Protect and Perfect Beaty Serum  yet.  I just bought it recently and now included this serum in my daily skin regimen.  I will tell you about the result later.  The company promises that in 28 days my skin will be looking visibly younger.

What I learned about this products is that Serum No7 is the result of more than 30 years of research on the signs of skin aging.  If you don't mind, I have to get a little bit technical here as to why this serum should work really well.  At least this info was interesting to me, so it might be interesting to you too.

The company says that promised result is possible thanks to anti-aging complex mixed with technologically advanced molecules and white lupin.  This combination helps the skin's cells to act like younger ones, renovating the skin and stimulating the formation of new collagen.  For a better result the Boots laboratories suggest to combine the use of the serum with the cream, which moisturizes the skin and protects against UV rays.

It is also great that Boots product is readily available at Target stores in the US and very reasonably priced.

Now I would like to tell you about Boots products that I do use regularly.  Here are some of them that I can recommend since these worked for me really well:

• High Lights Illuminating Lotion   This is the one I really like to use on my cheek bones to add light shimmer.  This shimmer looks very natural on my skin and I love it. You can't go wrong with highlighting shimmer on your face this summer season, see makeup Spring/Summer 2012 trends   but it must be the right shimmer. 
• Protect and Perfect Lip Cream  Since  Dior Red  and  Chanel Red  lipsticks are one of my favorite, you may know how important it is to take good care of your lips when using red lipsticks.  Otherwise your lips will not be looking as you expected.  This lip cream not only very good prep base for the lipstick, but it helped me to repair serious dryness on my lips.  I have to admit that before I was using a LOT of lipsticks without taking care of my lips and it was not good.  Those days are gone and I learned my lessons.
• Radiance Revealed Exfoliator   Very gentle scrub for your face, does a good job and not too aggressive for my sensitive skin.  Nice smell too.
